DAVI BONELA| Brazilian, 30 years old. I am editor, journalist and media professional with experience in the areas of education, science, culture and health.

Currently, I am researcher of the Museu of Tomorrow, a science museum based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which explores the ever-changing times we are witnessing and the possible paths we may take during the next 50 years.

As journalist, I have been covering international events about global challenges hosted in Brazil, for instance, Summit of People in the United Nations Conference Rio+20, World Science Forum and General Assembly of Global Network of Science Academies. I have also been producing news, interviews and articles, some of them translated into several languages, as well as exhibitions, on-line collections, books, tv shows, documentaries and seminars.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Museum of Tomorrow

2015/11 – Present – As researcher of the Exhibitions and Observatory of Tomorrow, my attributions are: to create and update the content of the scientific exhibitions; to write articles or interviews on scientific advances and global challenges; to establish partnerships with scientific and technology institutions; to contact researchers to write articles or to offer lectures; to draw or update curatorial, scientific communication, documentation and sustainability plans; and to organize scientific seminars and meetings.

Fiocruz – Oswaldo Cruz Foundation

01/2015 – 11/2015 – As communication analyst, my attributions were: to support the research and development of concepts, content and data for scientific exhibitions created by Museum of Life in the in the Plan for new uses of the Architectural and Historical Center of Manguinhos, which aims to generate supply of education in science, technology and health in an area of Rio de Janeiro where Manguinhos, Caju, Maré and Alemão slums are based.

Brazilian Academy of Sciences

09/2012 – 12/2013 – As journalist, my attributions were: to write news and interviews about science, technology and innovation advances, opportunities and challenges. I also covered the General Assembly of Global Network Academy of Sciences and World Science Forum, and many other events held by the BAS.

People’s Summit for Social and Environmental Justice at RIO+20

06/2012 – 07/2012 – As the official journalist of this event, my attributions were: to cover the participation of social movements in Rio+20 and in People’s Summit to provide informations to the official tv and the website created especially for this event.

Multirio – Rio de Janeiro’s Municipal Company of Multimeios
09/2011 – 08/2012 – As internship researcher, I searched for data and information to be used in publications, TV shows, and in the website of the company which makes the educational content for the Rio de Janeiro’s public schools.
National Museum of Quinta da Boa Vista

01/2010 – 07/2011 – I received a grant to search for data, information and content to be used in studies and in guided visits in this museum of natural and human history based at Rio de Janeiro.
